We hope to celebrate New Year in our caravan at Grantown this year and know we will get a warm wlecome from one and all I.A.G, (Culloden, Inverness) - November 2007 Hi, I had the pleasure to stay in Grantown last week and loved it - I've only ever passed through before. What a great place - from the beautiful surroundings and excellent Victorian architecture to JJ's restaurant and Smarty Art to the wonderful forest walks. Well done on this excellent informative website. A.W.G, (Stevenage, Herts.) - October 2007 Carlsberg dont do towns, but if they did Grantown would probably be the best town in the world...Having just left Grantown for the second time this year I can honestly say I will come back again, and again. The guesthouse we stayed in, was again, excellent,Holmhill House. Mike and Mel should be Knighted in the 2008 B&B honours list! As for the Craig Bar, it does Grantown justice, its warm, friendly and you have a great time. Both establishments are run by true pro's who make you feel welcome within minutes. A diamond of a town, in the crown of Scotland. Hope to be back soon. E.L.M.A.J, (Dorset) - October 2007 Just returned from a short visit to Grantown. Stayed at "Westhaven" guest house, in South Street. Can highly recommend. Warm welcome, very comfortable rooms and good breakfast. J.&.J.W.J, (Capel-le-Ferne, Kent) - October 2007 I just love this place, and the people. K.I.H.W.J, (Vesteraalen, Norway) - October 2007 Having spent the last week at the Scottish 6 Day Orienteering event I felt I must write to say a huge thank you to all the people and businesses of Grantown for making us all so welcome. Everyone was very thoughful - the librarians must have wonder what hit them with the requests for Internet time - shops staying open late, ordering extra supplies and being generally helpful. The Ceildilh on Friday night was fantastic. Where else would the main thoroughfare be closed off for people to dance. I saw youngsters of 6 or 7 alongside grandparents in their seventies all dance together. Brilliant! I've attended all 16 Scottish orienteering events and have never come home feeling so uplifted by the response of the local people. Thank you Grantown. May I return soon. P.S. The red squirrels in our garden just behind the High Street were wonderful. The icing on the cake. M.N.H.W.J, (Romsey, Hampshire) - August 2007 Looking forward to seeing you all (again) in the summer. My father came from Grantown. I love it. S.C.H.W.J, (Linlithgow) - March 2007 Great web site. It makes me really want to come . I am sure you will have an influx of tourists. really easy to work my way around too. S.A.H.W.J, (bristol) - September 2006 |
